We just got word that the new Canon flagship EOS-1D X will be available in Singapore by June 22nd, for a princely sum of S$9,299 (body-only). The camera was announced last year and estimated to be launched by March, but better late than never. They managed to make the Olympics, which was always the (apparent) goal.
Hard to imagine this as a daily shooter unless you’re a photojournalist, or you shoot sports, wildlife, or in extreme conditions. Horses for courses, and this one is (in my opinion) aimed squarely at those markets. Those are the markets that Canon based their modern EOS reputation on, so it is to be expected.
If anyone is getting their hands on one, be sure to let us know how it’s working for you.
